Writing a feature article is an art. It requires creativity, storytelling skills and the ability to engage readers with colorful language and rich descriptions. The story has a beginning, middle, and end. It includes quotes and uses lifelike language to help the reader picture the story. The first sentence, called the lead, is important because it grabs the reader’s attention. There are different types of leads, such as narrative, descriptive, direct quotes, surprising statements, comparisons, and twists.

What is media? Media refers to the various means of communication through which news, entertainment and other content are transmitted to a large audience. Media plays a huge role in this this day in age; receiving day to day news as well as being able to connect with people. I think media has a big impact on our lives. most of the time the impact being good while having some bad elements to it as well. Media comes in various different forms. Such as print media, magazines, digital media and newspapers. These are just a few of them. Out of these magazines are one of the best sources of media. Magazines are periodical publications that contain of article, photographs, illustrations, and advertisement usually printed on glossy paper and bound together. Magazines can be targeted towards multiple ages categorize and genders.
There are many countries specific magazines found all over the world. There are also magazines that can be only found specific to Sri Lanka. Some examples being hi!! Magazine, LMD and, Satyn. One of my personal favorite magazines are Hi!! Magazine and ChokoLATTE. ChokoLATTE has a special place in my heart due to always having very relatable content. ChokoLatte is a magazine that is mostly targeted towards teens and young adults. ChokoLATTE magazine was founded in 2006 by Michelle Guneskara. This was one of the first youth magazines ever to made.
For this essay I have used a physical copy of the ChokoLATTE magazine. This magazine has various different topics from sports to academic achievements to music to fitness at health. The cover story for this particular magazine is about YOHANI, a singer song writer who had a recent breakthrough in the music industry. In this article about her, there is a questionnaire done by the interviewer. Each question asking about herself and her and about her life leading up to that point. My favorite question is, describe yourself in 3 sentences. She answered that question by saying “I’ve made a lot of tough decisions in my life and it was all through following my gut. My guitar is my bae, nothing comes between us. I can get a little crazy sometimes.” For health, fitness and wellbeing, there are a few interviews on several people and workouts. My favorite is the workout that can be done without any equipment. There are quite a few amazing academic achievements in this magazine. Seeing these achievements inspires me to work hard and have a good academic achievement as well.
This magazine is great due to many reasons. I love that there so many people from different professions and backgrounds sharing their story to inspire the world. I will keep following this magazine and continue to enjoy its contents.
I chose the ChokoLATTE magazine. In this essay I talked about the origins to my favorite parts of the magazine.
Learning outcome – From this assignment I was able to explore my interests and convey them into words. I will continue to enhance these skills for future purposes.
